Learn a Skill, Then Earn

In this age of standardized living there are many things one can do to earn money even without a University degree. I think formal education kind of makes one lazy, everyone wants to have an office work and climb the corporate ladder. Not everyone has to do that, the world is full of so many needs, get creative and make new products people may need or develop on the already existing ones that people use.

You don't need to wait till you are broke or out of school, a skill can be very useful now. Learn one, develop it and start using it. You can even start by offering your services or goods for free to get people to notice you and take interest in what you can do then monetize the skill and start smiling to the bank.

Skills can be acquired in seminars or from people who are already into that particular thing. In this article I will be briefly giving you some examples of skills that are marketable:

1. Phone or Computer repairs

I can bet $50 that this skill will never be a waste. Everyone's system or phone may develop a fault at one point or the other and almost everyone I know either has a phone, a laptop or a desktop computer. Imagine how much you could be earning a day just by repairing all these stuffs. If you have in interest in phones and computer gadgets, love fixing up things then you can learn this skill and start using it.  

2. Tailoring

Let's just say fashion designing to draw your attention, the skill itself is as old as civilization but very useful and it is not restricted to any gender. Even if you want to go far with your education you could still learn it and make it better by designing great designs. If you have a good eyesight and patience to sit for long hours, and a love for fashion, acquire this skill and use it.

3. Playing Musical Instruments

There is plenty of market for this. You can learn how to play musical instruments such as the piano, drums, guitar and trumpet. Singers can hire you to play alongside them or you could be invited to play at occasions. You can even make money teaching the skill to others. I recommend you have love for music before starting this.

4. Typing

This is very easy. You could type documents for people who are too busy. you must be very fast in this. There are soft wares that help you type fast once you learn this you stand a very good chance of making money through it.

There are many other skills you can learn to make a living. Just ensure that the skill is one that aligns with your interest or passion and that the skill is sought out for, you do not want to learn a skill that will turn out to be a waste of time in the long run.
